2022 Atlas Features, Overview
Introduced back in 2017 for the 2018 model year, the Volkswagen Atlas is the most spacious model the German automaker has ever produced. And with the 2022 Atlas, you don’t have to sacrifice style for size.
Nor do you have to sacrifice power, for that matter. Few SUVs manage to balance carrying capacity, performance, and style all at once. But the Atlas 2022 edition is a rare specimen that fits that bill.
To see how the current model accomplishes that, let’s look at the 2022 Atlas specs and features.
Overview of the 2022 Atlas
The 2022 Atlas was built with interior space as one of its primary selling points. With three rows and a generous amount of real estate, it can accommodate seven adults in comfort.
The Atlas is as home hauling cargo as it is carrying passengers. It boasts 29.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind its second row and 14 cubic feet behind its third row.
Setting aside the added interior space, it shares a lot in common with its smaller sibling, the Atlas Cross Sport. It packs plenty of power, courtesy of a 235-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. But if you need a little more muscle under the hood, a 276-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 version is also available.
Both engines use an eight-speed automatic transmission, and you can opt for either a front-wheel or all-wheel-drive model.
Consumer Reports and the experts at Kelly Blue Book both give the 2022 Atlas high marks, emphasizing its spacious interior, excellent handling for a vehicle its size, and its user-friendly tech features. Speaking of, let’s take a look at some of the features of the new Atlas.
2022 Atlas FeaturesAn SUV for All Seasons
Volkswagen deserves a place on any list of the most lauded automakers in the business. If you schedule a test drive of the 2022 Atlas, you’ll see why.
Many have tried to build a sports utility vehicle that lives up to the “sports” in its name without sacrificing the utility. But few have found the success that Volkswagon has with the Atlas line.
But you don’t need to take our word for it. Instead, come on down to Cherry Hill Volkswagen near Philadelphia to it for yourself. Once you do, you’re sure to want an Atlas in your driveway.
